The world of sports technology is advancing rapidly, and we are excited to share the latest results from our Vision system alpha test! Our team has put in a lot of effort, and we’ve made significant progress in creating a state-of-the-art multi-camera solution for ball detection and tracking. In this post, we will showcase our key achievements, including impressive tracking accuracy, a successful live-streaming event at a pickleball tournament, and our thrilling plans for the future.

Completion of the Ball Detection and Tracking Pipeline

We are pleased to inform you that we have finished the ball detection and tracking pipeline for our multi-camera solution! This accomplishment reflects the dedication and expertise of our development team, who have worked diligently to ensure we can accurately detect and track fast-moving objects in real-time.

Our multi-camera setup captures a complete view of the playing field, making sure to track every movement. By using advanced algorithms and top-notch technology, we provide precise tracking data essential for various applications. For instance, coaches can analyze player movements with unparalleled accuracy, leading to targeted training sessions that enhance performance.

Impressive Average Ball-Tracking Error

A significant highlight from our alpha test is achieving an average tracking error of only 2mm using raw measurements. This level of accuracy is a groundbreaking development in sports analytics, facilitating in-depth analysis of player performance and ball dynamics.

Achieving such low tracking error is remarkable, showcasing the effectiveness of our detection algorithms and camera quality. For example, with this precision, coaches can identify the exact speed and angle of each shot, ultimately leading to improved strategies and outcomes for their teams.

Successful Live Streaming at the DiNK'D Pickleball Zero Zero Boo! Tournament

In an exciting demonstration of our system's capabilities, we live-streamed the action from the DiNK'D Pickleball Zero Zero Boo! Tournament directly to YouTube. This event not only highlighted our technology but also celebrated the energy of the sport itself.

Viewers could experience the tournament in real-time, aided by our accurate ball tracking and dynamic visuals. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with over 1,000 viewers tuning in over the 4 days of the event, illustrating the demand for thrilling sports experiences in live broadcasts. It was indeed heartening to witness our technology captivating audiences during such a vibrant event and the live velocity overlayed directly on the gameplay video in real time as quite a challenge to overcome!

Excitement About Future Developments

Reflecting on our journey so far, we are thrilled about the next steps for our Vision system. Upcoming features include mapping ball trajectories and implementing automatic line calling, which will enhance the overall functionality of our system.

Mapping ball trajectories will allow us to dissect the path of the ball in detail, offering coaches useful insights into player performance. Aiming for precision, we expect that this will improve training techniques and match strategies significantly. Furthermore, the line calling feature will automate decisions on whether a ball is in or out, which could reduce human error in officiating. A study by the International Tennis Federation found that automated systems reduced incorrect calls by over 30%, demonstrating the potential benefit of our upcoming developments.

Remarkable Speed of Detection - Live Gameplay Video

Our Vision system is also celebrated for its incredible speed: it can detect a ball and deliver speed output in just 50 milliseconds. That is 2x quicker than a blink! This rapid response is crucial for real-time applications, ensuring players, coaches, and viewers receive immediate data about the action on the court.

This quick processing opens doors to new possibilities for interactive coaching. Imagine players receiving immediate feedback on their performance or viewers enjoying real-time statistics during a live match. Such enhancements could redefine the way we engage with sports. Ball-tracking has never been this fast and available at scale and at all levels The video below is a real time pickleball ball-tracking gameplay of a competition held at DiNK'D for the fastest legal return. The winner measured an impressive 56mph legal return!

And this video demonstrates the speed of the raw speed being calculated in real time on the court!

Stay Tuned for Updates

As we keep refining our Vision system, we promise to keep our audience in the loop about our progress. We project an official release in January 2026, and we eagerly anticipate sharing more exciting updates with you.

Our team is committed to breaking new ground in sports technology, and we are thrilled to have you with us on this journey. Keep an eye out for more news, insights, and innovations as we strive to transform how we experience sports!

Anticipating the Future For Pickleball Ball-Tracking, Line Calling, and High Quality Gameplay Video

In summary, our Vision system alpha test has yielded impressive results, from achieving a remarkable average tracking error to successfully live-streaming a major tournament. The excitement around our project is tangible, and we look forward to advancing features that will elevate sports experiences for players and fans alike.

Thank you for your support and interest in our Vision system. We are on the brink of a new era in sports technology, and we are eager to see where this journey takes us!
